We all know that singing is good for our health and well-being. Come and join us as a member of the choir, a volunteer at our events or a patron. New voices (soprano, alto, tenor or bass) are always welcome. We have very reasonable fees and have a policy of open recruitment – no auditions – just enthusiasm and a commitment to rehearsing.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held every Thursday – led by our accomplished Musical Director. On this site, members who don’t sight-read music will find lots of helpful resources for learning the pieces. Your choir colleagues will be there to support you, plus specially-prepared practice music and your own willingness and enthusiasm undoubtedly will play their part.
Social Activities
Singing and socialising together has stood the test of time. Over the years we’ve held many concerts, exchange programmes and special trips, which are always an enjoyable mixture of music-making and merriment.
Subscription Fees
Subscriptions are very important. They help pay for the hire of venues, hire of scores, payment to our rehearsal accompanist / Musical Director etc.
We supply all music scores which are yours to use for the duration of the term. They are then collected and returned to our supplier.
From September 2022 members are asked to pay £45 per term. However, new members only pay half fees – £22.50 for their first term. It is possible to pay using on-line banking (BACS). The treasurer will provide details. However, a new option for September 2022, is to pay for the whole year in advance (£120) a saving of £15.
If you are a tax payer, please consider completing the Gift Aid declaration. We can then claim a further 25% from the Government, which helps keep future subs lower.
